Autry
Autry is a sports shoe brand founded in 1982 in Dallas, United States, by Jim Autry. Initially appreciated by tennis players, the brand featuring the American flag logo quickly attracted the attention of specialized media. In the mid-1980s, Tennis magazine named the Medalist shoe as the best sneaker, both for its design and its technicality. Sneakers have become iconic and very popular. However, after the death of its founder, Jim Autry, in 1987, the brand ceased production and eventually disappeared.
It was only in 2019 that the brand experienced a revival, with its acquisition by two French people who were fervent admirers of the historic model, Alberto Raengo and Régis Billard, communications specialists in the field of streetwear. They made the decision to revitalize the brand by giving it a unique identity, merging North American nostalgia and European know-how, thus distinguishing it from other sneaker brands. They have revived this brand by adopting a retro, minimalist and unisex design, adapting to all contemporary styles.
