At the outset, Marc Jacobs wanted to hijack the Monogram, and wanted to use graffiti, which in his eyes is an act of mistrust and rebellion, a symbol of anarchy. The artistic director of Louis Vuitton naturally turned to Stephen, to whom he offered to apply his graffiti skills to distort the famous Monogram.
